China's CNC system needs to be strengthened

The CNC system is equivalent to the brain of CNC machine tools, accounting for one fifth of the value of the entire machine. Its function is to convert the machining goals set by the user into specific machining steps and command the machine tool. At present, many manufacturers of CNC machine tools in China purchase foreign CNC systems and integrate them with their own machine tools.

In recent years, domestically produced low-end CNC systems have basically squeezed out foreign competitors from the Chinese market; On the contrary, in the high-end market, domestic products account for less than one tenth. The high-end CNC system market is basically under the control of manufacturers such as Fanuc and Siemens.

Foreign high-end CNC systems perform better than domestic products in high-speed and high-precision performance, as well as in five axis machining and intelligence, and their average time between failures is four times that of domestic products.

The architecture of CNC systems, hardware and software components, and high-speed and high-precision algorithms all require long-term research and improvement. The backwardness of the domestic electronic basic industry has determined the weak performance of high-end CNC systems in China.

In addition to the gap in the level of CNC systems, the weakness in the field of key components also limits the height of domestic machine tools. At some machine tool exhibitions, domestic high-end machine tools using Fanuc or Siemens CNC systems can also be seen. Compared with foreign machines equipped with the same "brain", the rotational speed is only one-third of that of foreign machines, and the error range is five times that of others.
